I think it’s a well known fact that many romance writers are fans of Joss Whedon’s Buffy, Angel and Firefly. How do I know this? Well, I’ve asked around. Anyway, I’m not here to debate whether he has fans or not. He does. His latest creation, Dollhouse, just premiered on FOX and I of course tuned in to every second. Did I like it? Considering I generally have so many opinions it was odd that I’m on the fence about this one. Frankly, I felt like I was missing something. Perhaps that’s because the premiere episode was never intended to air as the first episode, so as a viewer I felt like the fast forward button was mistakenly held down and I couldn’t catch up…
Yes, I admit it, I’m a LOST fan.
I was completely intrigued with Season One. No one had ever done a series using flashbacks and back stories to advance a plot. Leave it to the creators of “Alias” to come up with that one. By the time Season Two rolled around I lost interest. There were only so many unanswered questions, mysteries and flashbacks I could take.
Last year, my sister, an avowed fan of the series, convinced me to give it another try. In fact, she spent an entire evening filling me in on all the details I’d missed since my last visit to the Island.
“Okay,” I said. “I’m in.”
And away I went – sucked back into the unanswered questions, the smoke…
If you were looking for a synonym for the word ‘unbelievable’ you might find the word ‘TV’. Why? Because there are questionable things on television. Of course I’m free to watch them or not – isn’t a democracy wonderful. So, when I stumbled upon Paula Dean cooking with Krispy Kremes… well, I just couldn’t resist sharing something that I thought was unbelievable.
