Okay – I admit it, I am the woman who LOATHES Reality TV.  I am usually the one who looks away when there’s an accident on the road.  I won’t watch morbid, I turn away from other people’s embarrassing moments. But a repeat of  “Real Housewives of NYC” was impossible to turn away from.  It  put the T in train wreck.  OH MY GOD!

Five rich NYC women who are really wannabe people.  What’s a wannabe people?  Someone who is striving desperately to be a human being.  Someone who is working at some point in their tenure on this planet to deserve the title of a real person.  They aren’t there yet, or maybe they were and somehow lost their way in their efforts to “BE” somebody.

The fascination can be summed up in listing some of the key moments of the show:

  • 40 something women having a fight because one of them wasn’t invited to a party
  • A woman walking out of a fashion show because she wasn’t put in a front row seat
  • A woman taking her 14 year old daughter to buy a couple of school outfits that cost $2000.00 (that’s not a typo)
  • Another woman on vacation, leaves her two children with the nanny, while she and her husband go shopping and buy her over $85,000 worth of dresses.  I think she purchased 4 outfits.
  • Four women playing a tennis match in a South Hampton backyard and acting as if they are playing at the US Open and actually getting pissed at each other when they don’t score a point.

Need I go on? Uh – that would be a no.

So – when it comes to Reality TV, what are some of the moments that you simply cannot turn away from?
